When was the last time you wished there was a better option than the “always in doubt” Google estimator?
When was the last time you wished, if you could have predicted the cost and the volume you’d get from you set of keywords in your Google Adwords account?
When was the last time when you wished you could have optimized your Google accounts not on the past performance but on the future predictions?
Well, here is a small window of hope for you all.
I have taken the most prolific sector of digital marketing, the BFSI sector for my samples and took the two most sought after keywords, ‘Tax’ and ‘Insurance’ to look for trends.
What I discovered was absolutely phenomenal.
Have a look:
No, it’s not a star, nor is it a flower. it actually is a graphical representation of the weekly user interest for the keyword “Tax” on Google in the last 5 years. (Source: Google Insights, Google Trends)
let me show you the real graph, here it is:
This graph shows a religious spike in the months of February and April every year, for the last 5 years.
If we draw the same graph for the keyword “insurance”, we get this:
this graph (which looks like Antarctica) instead, shows a religious Dip in the months of December and February, every year for the past 5 years.
There are spikes for the keywords love, every year in the month of February, the searches for the keyword “sex” strangely, reach their peak every year around the months of June-July. The keyword “Holiday” gets its peak every year in the months of July and December.
What can we learn from it? How can we profit from this?
Can we make predictive CPA models with this information, which can help us reduce the overall cost of our campaigns? Well, all I can say right now is…happy digging!
